Quảng Văn đình
Definition
Proper Noun: - Quang Van Pavilion: A historical pavilion built in 1491 outside the Dai Hung Gate (the southern gate of Thang Long Citadel), used as a place to publicly post legal proclamations and governance decrees. During the Later Le Dynasty, it was also used to display the names of newly awarded doctoral laureates (Tien Si) from certain imperial examinations. Under the Gia Long reign, its name was changed to Quang Minh Pavilion. The nearby street (in the area of Cua Nam, Hanoi) was also named Quang Minh Dinh Street.
